Tokyo Harry Potter Studio Tour Guide — Tickets, Tips & What to Expect (2026)
Warner Bros. Studio Tour Tokyo tickets, how to get there, what's inside, butterbeer, wand shop, and tips from someone who's been to both Tokyo and London.
Tokyo Harry Potter Studio Tour — Newer and Better Than London
Warner Bros. Studio Tour Tokyo - The Making of Harry Potter is a Harry Potter exhibition and experience facility in Toshimaen, Nerima, Tokyo, Japan. It opened in June 2023 as the second Harry Potter studio tour in the world, after London.
I've been to the London studio earlier this year. Tokyo is newer, the facilities are cleaner, and there's more to see and do. If you've watched the Harry Potter series from Philosopher's Stone to Deathly Hallows Part 2, you'll recognize nearly every set piece.
It's not just looking — there are hands-on experiences like broomstick riding, green screen filming, and Floo Powder teleportation. Budget at least 3 hours for the full tour.
Key Info
Getting There
Take the Seibu Railway from Ikebukuro Station to Toshimaen Station — 17 minutes. From the station exit, it's a 2-minute walk with clear signage.
Easy access from central Tokyo. You can do the morning tour and still have the afternoon free for other plans.

Tickets
Timed entry means advance booking is required. Weekends and holidays sell out quickly.

Morning slots recommended. Fewer visitors, shorter queues for photo spots and experiences. It gets noticeably more crowded by the time you leave.

Luggage Storage & Before Entry
You can't bring large bags inside. Two storage options:
Locker sizes: L 930×350×555mm / M 775×350×575mm / S 290×350×555mm. A carry-on suitcase fits in the L size. No currency exchange on site — bring cash if needed.
Also: you can enter the studio 1 hour before your booking time. The lobby has Frog Cafe and Food Hall, so arriving early is fine — grab a drink while you wait.
Tour Structure
The tour flows: Part 1 (indoor) → outdoor area → Part 2 (indoor) → gift shop. It's self-guided — a brief guided intro at the start, then you explore freely.

Outdoor area:

Part 2 highlights:

Butterbeer
Available at the outdoor Butterbeer Bar for ¥1,250 per glass. Not actual beer — it's a cream-topped soda drink.

The cup can be washed and kept as a souvenir — there's a washing station right next to the bar.
Food & Drink
Three dining spots inside:
Backlot Cafe is where you get butterbeer. Indoor and outdoor seating available. Food Hall and Frog Cafe are accessible before your tour time.
Gift Shop
Two shops to know:
Wands cost ¥4,600 each. There's a touch-screen display that shows which character's wand you're holding — fun to browse.
