Tokyo DisneySea Guide — Tickets, DPA, Fantasy Springs & Show Tips (2026)

All Guides

Tokyo DisneySea tickets, DPA vs Priority Pass, Fantasy Springs rides, and Believe! show tips from multiple visits to Japan's most unique Disney park.

Tokyo DisneySea — A Completely Different Disney Park

Tokyo DisneySea is a theme park in Maihama, Urayasu, Chiba Prefecture, Japan — right next to Tokyo Disneyland but with a completely different atmosphere. Instead of a Disney castle, there's a large central lake with a volcano behind it. Opened in 2001, it's the only Disney park in the world built around a "Sea" theme.

I've visited Disney parks in Hong Kong, LA, Paris, and Tokyo. DisneySea is the best Disney park for adults. It has more thrilling rides than Disneyland, longer wait times, and a more mature atmosphere. If you're traveling without kids, this is the one to pick.

Key Info

  • Location: 1-13 Maihama, Urayasu, Chiba 279-8511, Japan (~15 min from Tokyo Station by JR + monorail)
  • Hours: 09:00–21:00 (varies by season; actual opening ~30 min earlier)
  • Tickets: ~$60–65 on Klook / ¥9,400 official (Apr 2026, varies by date)
  • Getting there: JR Maihama Station → Disney Resort monorail (additional fare)
  • Must-do before visit: Install Tokyo Disney Resort app + create MyDisney account

Getting There

Take the JR Keiyo Line from Tokyo Station to Maihama Station (~15 min). Disneyland is walkable from Maihama, but DisneySea requires a monorail ride — one more stop, separate fare.

Disney Resort monorail station with Mickey Mouse gates

Monorail tip: two one-way tickets are cheaper than a round-trip if you're not leaving the park mid-day. The grab handles inside are shaped like Mickey Mouse — everyone takes photos.

For opening rush, arrive by 7–8am. Official opening is 9am but entry usually starts around 8:30. The crowd is already massive. Opening rush matters because you need to secure DPA and Priority Pass slots early.

Tickets

DisneySea tickets are the same price as Disneyland. Varies by date.

Prices (April 2026):

  • Klook: ~$60–65 (varies by date)
  • Official site: ¥9,400 (adults)

Klook voucher registers directly in the Disney app for entry. Popular dates sell out — book as soon as travel dates are confirmed.

Entry ticket covers all rides for free. The only extra cost is DPA (paid express). Check hours and show schedules on the official Tokyo Disney Resort site.

DPA vs Priority Pass

DisneySea has much longer ride waits than Disneyland. 120–180 minute waits are common. Understanding DPA and Priority Pass is essential for DisneySea.

Priority Pass (Free)

Free time-assigned pass via the app. You don't choose the time.

Available Attractions (DisneySea, 6 total):

  • Turtle Talk
  • Nemo & Friends SeaRider
  • Indiana Jones Adventure: Temple of the Crystal Skull
  • Raging Spirits
  • The Magic Lamp Theater
  • 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea

See the official Priority Pass page for full rules.

How to use:

  • Step 1: After entering, open app → "40th Anniversary Priority Pass"
  • Step 2: Scan park tickets for all members
  • Step 3: Select attraction → show up at assigned time
  • One pass per person at a time
  • 120-minute cooldown before next pass (longer than Disneyland)
  • Limited supply — popular attractions run out by mid-morning

DPA — Disney Premier Access (Paid)

Pick your own time slot. Pay via credit card in the app.

Attractions (DisneySea, 7 total):

  • Anna and Elsa's Frozen Journey — ¥2,000 (Fantasy Springs — most popular)
  • Rapunzel's Lantern Festival — ¥2,000 (Fantasy Springs)
  • Peter Pan's Never Land Adventure — ¥2,000 (Fantasy Springs)
  • Soaring: Fantastic Flight — ¥2,000
  • Toy Story Mania! — ¥2,000
  • Tower of Terror — ¥1,500
  • Journey to the Center of the Earth — ¥1,500

Shows (DisneySea, 3 total — all ¥2,500/show):

  • Dance the Glow! (2026.1.14–2027.3.31)
  • Believe! Sea of Dreams
  • Dreams Take Flight

See the official DPA page for full rules.

How to use:

  • Step 1: After entering, open app → "Disney Premier Access"

  • Next DPA available after 60 min or booking start time (whichever first)
  • Limited supply — sells out in the morning. Buy right after entering
  • No cancellation or refund

If buying only one DPA? Get Frozen Journey in Fantasy Springs. Longest wait in the park, newest attraction, highest quality.

Fantasy Springs — DisneySea's Biggest Draw

Opened in 2024. Houses Frozen (Frozen Journey), Rapunzel (Lantern Festival), and Peter Pan (Never Land Adventure).

Fantasy Springs entrance at Tokyo DisneySea

Initially required a separate ticket to enter, but entry is now free. However, ride waits are the longest in the park — Frozen Journey regularly hits 2–3 hours of standard wait.

Even without riding, the area is beautifully themed and worth walking through.

Top Rides

DisneySea has more thrilling attractions than Disneyland. Wait times are generally longer across the board.

DPA attractions (longest waits):

  • Frozen Journey — Fantasy Springs. Wait: 2–3hr. Frozen theme
  • Soaring — large-screen flight simulator over world landmarks. Wait: 100min+
  • Toy Story Mania — shooting gallery ride. Wait: 100min+
  • Tower of Terror — free-fall drop tower. Most thrilling ride at DisneySea
Tower of Terror building at Tokyo DisneySea
  • Journey to the Center of the Earth — volcano roller coaster. Short but intense

Priority Pass attractions (shorter waits):

  • Indiana Jones — less thrilling than expected. Accessible for most visitors
  • Raging Spirits — outdoor roller coaster
  • Turtle Talk — live audience-interactive show (Japanese only)

Riding all popular attractions in one day is not realistic. DPA for 1–2 rides + Priority Pass gets you 3–4 total. Spend the rest enjoying the atmosphere — that's where DisneySea actually shines.

Believe! Sea of Dreams (Evening Show)

DisneySea's main nighttime show. A large-scale production on the lake using boats, fireworks, fountains, and projections. Completely different from Disneyland's castle illumination.

For a free good spot, arrive at least 1 hour early. Slightly left of the main entrance, just behind the DPA designated area, is the sweet spot. DPA (¥2,500) gets you a reserved zone, but good positioning without it works fine.

Don't miss this show. Stay until evening specifically for it.

Souvenirs

DisneySea souvenirs are sold at character-themed shops next to each attraction, plus a large general shop near the entrance. If you want a specific character, the entrance shop has everything in one place.

No park-hopping — pick one park per day. DisneySea has Fantasy Springs since 2024 and is harder to book.

Pick DisneySea if you're an adult after thrill rides and the Believe! lake show. Pick Disneyland for kids, families, and close-up street parades.

Tips From Multiple Visits

  • Buy tickets on Klook — cheaper than official site
  • Official app is essential — DPA, Priority Pass, show times all run through it
  • If buying only one DPA, get Frozen Journey (saves 2–3hr of waiting)
  • For opening rush, arrive at Maihama Station by 7–8am
  • Priority Pass cooldown is 120 minutes — longer than Disneyland
  • Believe! show best spot: 1 hour early, entrance left side, behind DPA seats
  • Riding all popular attractions in one day is unrealistic — aim for 3–4
  • Enjoy the atmosphere over rides — that's where DisneySea wins
  • Operating hours vary by season — check app on your visit day

FAQ

How much are Tokyo DisneySea tickets?
About $60–65 on Klook, or ¥9,400 on the official site (2026). Same price as Disneyland. Varies by date.
Do I need a separate ticket for Fantasy Springs?
Not anymore. Entry to Fantasy Springs is now free. However, ride wait times are the longest in the park — expect 2–3 hours for Frozen Journey without DPA.
Which DPA should I buy at DisneySea?
Frozen Journey (¥2,000) in Fantasy Springs. It's the most popular ride with the longest wait. If buying a second, Soaring or Toy Story Mania.
Tokyo Disneyland or DisneySea — which should I go to?
DisneySea for adults and thrill rides. Disneyland for families, kids, and parades. DisneySea has longer waits but more intense attractions and the Believe! night show.
Can I visit both Disneyland and DisneySea in one day?
Physically possible but not recommended. Wait times at DisneySea alone take a full day. You'd need separate tickets for each park. If you must do both, focus rides at one park and just walk around the other.
How do I get to Tokyo DisneySea from Tokyo Station?
JR Keiyo Line from Tokyo Station to Maihama (~15 min), then transfer to the Disney Resort Monorail for one stop. The monorail is a separate fare. Tip: buying two one-way monorail tickets is cheaper than a round-trip if you won't re-enter.
Where's the best spot to watch the Believe! night show?
Arrive at least 1 hour before showtime. The sweet spot is slightly left of the main entrance, just behind the DPA reserved area. DPA (¥2,500) gets you a designated zone, but good positioning without it works fine.
